I can’t believe the holidays came and went. Just like that they breezed by us! I almost felt as if they didn’t happen right? I did most of my shopping online and I didn’t have a full house like in years past. I reluctantly put Christmas decorations up and just as quickly took them down (I mean the day after Christmas took them down).
Last year was a very emotional year for me. I left my career to pursue being a full time mother and I had my last baby. I always thought that at this point in my life and have some more things figured out. Amongst other things, I wish had read more and I had a rough go at moming full time. Along with the beautiful mess that is my life, ( and I’m fully aware I sound like I’m complaining ) I had a ton of successes in 2017. I had a great last year at work having turned around a department and making life long friends . I had a beautiful baby girl and finally had time to start my blog. My kids and fiancee had some great moments too.
I’ve never made new years resolutions but this year I was inspired to set some realistic goals for myself. I guess I’ve come to a place where I have to make changes if I want changes! So here it goes, to an awesome 2018!
As I reflect on the last 12 months, the memories we made and the milestones we have yet to tackle, all I can do is be grateful for another year. Am I right!? I’m determined to make this my year! I have a bunch of stuff lined up and I’m hopeful. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Did you guys set up any goals for yourself this year? I’d love to hear them. How do you plan to stick to them?
Here’s some 2017 pictures that didn’t make it into the ol’ blog. These are from Halloween. We went to The Pearl Farmers Market in the morning for breakfast then head to a pumpkin patch near our place for the kids to run around and play. Charlie insisted on getting her face painted then proceeded to have a meltdown after. Charlie was Princess Sofia from The Disney Channel, Logan was Slender Man and Esme was a pumpkin.
These are some recipes that didn’t make the cut. Some pumpkin spice strudel muffins and a pumpkin cajeta pavlova. I took a million pictures of that pavlova and had forgotten to put the sd card back into the camera after I had uploaded some pictures. I cut into the cake and tasted it when I realized I didn’t have the card in the camera. All that work down the drain! It’s funny now, then… not so much.
I didn’t love the texture of the strudel on these muffins. My kids loved them though.
This is the only picture I got, you can’t tell but on one side it was already cut into. :0(
Of course, it snowed in San Antonio for the first time since the 80’s and it was magical!
And last but not least, Logan had his 8th birthday. I can’t believe my little angel is a big boy! Love him so hard!
Happy New Year everyone, let’s make this a great one!
